Some days, I travel no further than into my imagination for inspiration, and from there... who knows. These are the kind of paintings that surprise me with every brushstroke and from which I learn the most. 'Summerset' started with the name, and I simply followed my thoughts about what it evoked. I felt it needed to be soft, warm, peaceful, and... peach? With that spark lit, I let myself be swept away into a most wondrous sky, unlike anything I had painted before. Along the way, I discovered a gorgeous spectrum of new colors hidden in the blending and mixing of pinks, mauves, and grays that give these clouds such depth, warmth, and feeling. If summer has to set, I want it to set like 'Summerset'.
